Papakū Makawalu in a PreK-8 Educational Setting

As Ka ʻUmeke Kāʻeo a charter school located in Keaukaha on the island of Hawaiʻi endeavors to build ancestral skills sets in todayʻs learners it has been busy developing a different kind of educational program with its own assessments that are not hampered by external and internal forces.  With significant amount of work ahead Ka ʻUmeke has decided to get out into the universities to begin to cultivate the type of kumu that are needed in this different type of education.  To do this the Papakū Makawalu Resource Kumu will hold trainings to interested undergraduate and grad haumāna to interest them in this type of educational and professional setting.
